1 or 2 players
45-60 minutes
Quick, easy & strategic.
IMPORTANT: THIS IS A PRINT AND PLAY DOWNLOAD
HIGHLIGHTS
I hate science fiction movies and games where the spaceships fly like World War 2 fighter planes. I wanted a game where spaceships actually obey the laws of physics!
But, I also wanted a fun, short playtime, strategic/tactical space battle game.
Hence, Leviathan 3000.
Spaceships fly like spaceships Strategic and tactical No dice, no random factors Easy to learn, quick to play 18 Scenarios (including 8 solo scenarios) Plays 1 or 2 players.
DETAILS
It plays like good old school hex and counter wargames. It has fighters, cruisers, leviathans, space stations and more. Play is for 1 or 2 players.
EASY TO PICKUP
It's easy to learn (maybe 15 minutes), setup takes about 5 minutes and play lasts less than an hour.
Oh, you also get to fly round planets in proper orbits and everything.

CONTENTS
Features 216 double-sided tokens, representing a dozen different types of spaceships from small to huge! 1 Giant hex map.
COMBAT:
The combat process is in the same vein as games like Ogre, Battle of the Bulge, and any Avalon Hill type hex-and-counter wargame.
Each unit has an attack range and strength. No dice involved. The defending unit loses a number of components based on the attack strength. Shields help defeat attacks. Defender chooses what gets damaged and this is not revealed.
MOVEMENT:
The game mechanic is really simple, although it does follow proper space physics, its not complicated or hard – in fact it is very simple – very like the old dot-and-dash style games you might have played already.
Spaceships have a vector. They will fly on that vector forever. Applying thrust changes the vector
The light/dark coloured tokens denote which turn we are on. The vector is the movement made in the last turn.
Turn 1: Ship moved from A to B
Turn 2: With no change in vector, the ship must move to C
Turn 2: But it can apply 1 vector of thrust and change the vector to D
Turn 3: Ship must move to E, but 1 vector of thrust changes that to F
Turn 4+, Ship continues to change vector by applying thrust. See how the flight path is nothing like a aeroplane!
Also, you can make some guesses about where your opponents units will have to move to next turn(s) – so you can deploy your own units tactically.
This project was successfully funded on Kickstarter
